ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 9 (UPI) -- Jarrod Washburn allowed a run on six hits over seven innings Wednesday, keying Seattle's 7-1 decision over Tampa Bay.

Washburn has beaten the Rays 11 times in 16 career starts. He walked one and struck out two to even his record at 1-1.

Jamie Burke led the offense with a three-run homer and Adrian Beltre added a solo shot.

Akinori Iwamura drove in the Rays' only run with a sacrifice fly. Andy Sonnanstine (1-1) took the loss, giving up four runs on seven hits in six innings. It was Tampa Bay's fourth straight setback.

Beltre's homer came in the fifth to give Seattle a 3-1 advantage and Burke broke the game open with his blast in the eighth off reliever J.P. Howell.
