MLB: Baltimore at Texas, ppd., rain

Published: April 9, 2008 at 8:46 PM

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 9 (UPI) -- Wednesday night's game between the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington was postponed by rain.

Shortly before game time, the area near the stadium was deluged by a heavy rainstorm leading to the Rangers' first weather-related postponement at home this season.

The contest will be made up Thursday afternoon as part of a day-night doubleheader.

Wednesday's scheduled starting pitchers were Baltimore right-hander Steve Trachsel and Texas lefty Kason Gabbard.

Baltimore has won seven in a row for the first time since an eight-game streak from April 22-May 1, 2005.
