Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

AUGUSTA, Ga., April 8 (UPI) -- Golf superstar Tiger Woods is poised to begin his try for the single-season Grand Slam when the first round of the Masters begins later this week.
The first round begins Thursday morning in Augusta, Ga. Woods is scheduled to play with reigning U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera and Stuart Appleby.
Woods has four green jackets and captured the latest major championship, the 2007 PGA Championship at Southern Hills.
Woods has a "career grand slam": wins at the Masters, the U.S. Open, the British Open and the PGA championship. Woods has held them all simultaneously, but did not win them in the same year. Only Bobby Jones did that, in 1930.
