
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 8 (UPI) -- Richie Sexson drove in three runs Tuesday, propelling the Seattle Mariners to a 6-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Ichiro Suzuki had three hits and scored twice, and Brad Wilkerson drove two runs for the Mariners, who broke a four-game losing streak.
Erik Bedard (1-0) got the win while giving up five runs on five hits and four walks in six innings.
Carlos Pena and Shawn Riggans each hit solo home runs for the Rays, who have lost their last three games.
Matt Garza started for Tampa, but left in the third inning with radial nerve irritation in his right elbow. He gave up three runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings. Gary Glover (0-1) was charged with the loss after allowing two runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings.
