
ANAHEIM, Calif., April 8 (UPI) -- Torii Hunter smashed a walk-off grand slam Monday, giving the Los Angeles Angels a 6-4 victory over the Cleveland Indians.
Hunter, who deposited the game-winning shot just inside the left field pole with one out in the ninth, also homered in the eighth. He finished 3-for-5 with five RBI to save the Angels, who had given up three runs in the top of the ninth.
Vladimir Guerrero had two hits and scored for the Angels, now 5-3 on the season.
Joe Saunders allowed one run over eight innings for the Angels only to have Francisco Rodriguez blow the save in the ninth. Rodriquez gave way to Scott Shields, who got the win.
Fausto Carmona gave up four hits and an unearned run over six innings for Cleveland, which lost four of its last five games. Joe Borowski (0-1) walked two in the ninth and gave up Hunter's game-winner.
Jhonny Peralta homered and drove in two runs for Cleveland.
