Garrard signs Jacksonville extension

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., April 7 (UPI) -- Quarterback David Garrard Monday signed a contract extension with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the details were not disclosed.

He won the starting job just before the 2007 season started, replacing Byron Leftwich, who was released. With just three interceptions on the year, he finished with the NFL's third-highest passer rating at 102.2.

Jacksonville set single-season franchise records in 2007 with 411 points and 50 touchdowns.
