COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 6 (UPI) -- Keith Tkachuk scored the 500th goal of his NHL career and added an assist for St. Louis, which beat Columbus 4-1 Sunday in the season finale for both teams.

The 36-year-old Tkachuk's goal, an empty-netter with 1:34 left in the game, was his third in the Blues' last two contests of the season.

David Perron also had a goal and assist for the Blues.

St. Louis goaltender Hannu Toivonen blocked 35 shots.

Michael Peca scored for the Blue Jackets.

The Blues missed the playoffs for the third straight season. Columbus, which joined the NHL in the 2000-01 season, has never made it to the post-season.
