SAHKIR, Bahrain, April 6 (UPI) -- Felipe Massa Sunday captured his second straight Bahrain Grand Prix in Sahkir.
His No. 2 Ferrari crossed the finish line 3.339 seconds ahead of teammate Kimi Raikkonen.
Massa overtook surprise pole winner Robert Kubica off the starting grid and was so dominant that he relinquished the lead only during pit stops.
"We had a good a start," Massa said at a post-race news conference. "I think Robert didn't have a good start and I passed him. I saw the gap increasing and then Kimi was behind but I could manage to keep the gap to him and the strategy was perfect as well."
Nick Heidfeld, Heikki Kovalainen, Jarno Trulli, Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg completed the points-scoring positions.
Lewis Hamilton, the F1 points leader when the race began, finished 13th and fell five points behind Raikkonen, who grabbed the lead with 19 points to 16 for Heidfeld.
