NHL: N.Y. Islanders 4, N.Y. Rangers 3 (SO)

NEW YORK, April 4 (UPI) -- A goal by Richard Park in a shootout Friday boosted the New York Islanders to a 4-3 win over the New York Rangers.

Park scored shorthanded in the shootout's fourth round. The Islanders, playing their last game this season, won the shootout 3-2.

Regulation ended in a 3-3 tie after the Rangers' Jaromir Jagr scored his 24th goal at 4:20 of the third period.

Daniel Girardi and Nigel Dawes also scored while Henrik Lundqvist stopped 29 of 32 shots for the Rangers, who have 96 points, one behind the New Jersey Devils for the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

In regulation, the Islanders got one goal each from Kyle Okposo, Miroslav Satan and Park, who scored his 12th at 15:07 of the third.

Wade Dubielewicz made 48 saves on 51 Rangers' shots for the Islanders, who finished with a 35-38-9 record, good for 79 points and 13th place in the East.
