UNIONDALE, N.Y., April 3 (UPI) -- Henrik Lundqvist recorded his 10th shutout of the season Thursday and the New York Rangers reached the playoffs by downing the New York Islanders 3-0.

Lundqvist, who leads the NHL in shutouts this season, made 25 saves.

Jaromir Jagr scored twice and Martin Straka had a goal and an assist for the Rangers, who became the fifth team to wrap up a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Wade Dubielewicz stopped 32 shots for the Islanders, losers of four out of five. The teams will meet again Friday at Madison Square Garden.

Jagr's goals both came in the opening period, the first coming on the power play at 6:09. He has 58 goals in 90 games against the Islanders in his career.
