MIAMI, April 2 (UPI) -- Rafael Nadal dropped the first set Wednesday but rallied to beat American James Blake in the quarterfinals of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.
The Spaniard won 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 in a match that lasted just under two hours.

MIAMI, April 2 (UPI) -- Rafael Nadal dropped the first set Wednesday but rallied to beat American James Blake in the quarterfinals of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami. The Spaniard won 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 in a match that lasted just under two hours.
Nadal's opponent in the semis Friday will be 10th-seeded Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic. Berdych became the first Czech native to reach the semifinals of this tournament in 15 years.
Berdych was a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Russian Igor Andreev.
On the other side of the draw, top-seeded Roger Federer plays Andy Roddick of the United States, and Nikolay Davydenko of Russia meets Serbian Janko Tipsarevic in quarterfinal matches Thursday.
Federer has defeated Roddick 11 straight times.
