VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 2 (UPI) -- Jose Theodore made 27 saves Tuesday, backstopping the Colorado Avalanche's 4-2 road victory over the Vancouver Canucks that clinched a playoff spot.

Peter Forsberg and Milan Hejduk both had a goal and an assist to power the Avalanche's offense. John-Michael Liles and Wojtek Wolski also scored for Colorado, which has four wins in its last five games.

The Avalanche fell behind 2-0 on goals by the Canucks' Willie Mitchell and Ryan Kesler before Liles' power-play goal at 9:13 of the second period started their comeback.

Robert Luongo gave up the four goals on 20 shots as the Canucks lost for the fifth time in their last six games. Vancouver is one point behind Nashville for the final playoff spot in the NHL West.
