MLB: LA Dodgers 3, San Francisco 2

LOS ANGELES, April 2 (UPI) -- Delwyn Young's infield single in the bottom of the ninth Tuesday brought Rafael Furcal home from second, delivering the LA Dodgers a 3-2 win over San Francisco.

Ray Durham had knocked down Young's hit between first and second but Furcal beat Rich Aurilia's throw to home for the deciding run.

Furcal also drove in the Dodgers' first two runs.

Takashi Saito (1-0) got the win by striking out the side in the top of the ninth, while Keiichi Yabu (0-1) was pegged with the loss by giving up the hit to Young.

Newly acquired Aaron Rowand had his second straight two-hit game for the Giants.

Dodgers starter Derek Lowe made it to the seventh but had to leave when a ball hit him on the left leg. He gave up two runs on nine hits and four strikeouts.

Reliever Joe Beimel gave up a run-scoring walk and an RBI single to Eugenio Velez for a 2-0 San Francisco lead.

Giants starter Matt Cain pitched scoreless baseball for 5 2/3 frames, giving up three hits and four walks with five strikeouts.
