Nadal, Blake, Berdych advance in Miami

MIAMI, March 31 (UPI) -- Spaniard Rafael Nadal, American James Blake and Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic scored third-round wins Sunday in the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.

Nadal, seeded No. 2 in the event, eliminated Nicolas Kiefer of Germany 6-2, 6-4.

Blake, the ninth seed, defeated Fabrice Santoro of France 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4.

Berdych, seeded 10th, ousted Juan Carlos Ferrero of Spain 6-1, 6-3.

Top-seed Roger Federer and American star Andy Roddick, seeded No. 6, play third-round matches Monday.
