Roddick reaches third round in Miami

MIAMI, March 29 (UPI) -- Former champion Andy Roddick, an American, came from behind Saturday to reach the third round at the $3.77 million Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.

The sixth-seeded Roddick, a former world No. 1, needed three sets to beat Serbian qualifier Viktor Troicki 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.

Roddick, who won this event in 2004, next meets Czech qualifier Ivo Minar.

Eleventh-seeded Russian Mikhail Youzhny beat American qualifier Bobby Reynolds 6-2, 6-2, and 12th-seeded Australian Open runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France defeated Austrian left-hander Jurgen Melzer 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 6-1 in the second day of second-round play.

In upsets, Israeli Dudi Sela beat Spaniard Tommy Robredo 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 and Argentine Jose Acasuso beat Australian Lleyton Hewitt 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
