SUNRISE, Fla., March 29 (UPI) -- Alexander Ovechkin scored his 62nd goal this season Saturday in the Washington Capitals' 3-0 victory against the Florida Panthers.

With the Caps already leading 2-0, Ovechkin fired a one-timer past Florida goaltender Tomas Vokoun for his 108th point this season (62 goals, 46 assists).

The Caps also got goals from Victor Kozlov and Mike Green, both in the second period.

Cristobal Huet stopped all 33 shots he faced for his fourth shutout this season and the Caps' first shutout victory at Florida since 2002.

The victory was Washington's fifth in a six-game road trip and kept them alive in the Eastern Conference playoff chase. They end the regular season with three home games next week.

Vokoun was beaten three times on 32 shots for the Panthers, who were eliminated from the post-season after the loss and Boston's 4-0 win over Ottawa earlier in the day.
