CALGARY, Alberta, March 26 (UPI) -- Dion Phaneuf scored a third-period goal Tuesday to lift the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.

Jarome Iginla and Daymond Langkow each had a goal and an assist for the Flames, who moved past idle Minnesota into first place in the NHL Northwest Division.

Calgary goalie Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 32 of 34 shots.

Markus Naslund and Daniel Sedin scored for the Canucks, who remained tied with idle Colorado for seventh place in the Western Conference. Roberto Luongo gave up three goals on 40 shots.
