NHL: Philadelphia 4, N.Y. Islanders 1

PHILADELPHIA, March 23 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Flyers got a goal and two assists from Danny Briere and 32 stops by Martin Biron Sunday in a 4-1 win over the New York Islanders.

The Flyers, after three straight wins, hold the seventh playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, two points ahead of the Boston Bruins.

The Islanders have lost seven of their last eight games.

Vinny Prospal, Braydon Coburn and Scott Hartnell scored the other Philadelphia goals.

Miroslav Satan scored and goaltender Joey MacDonald turned back 26 shots for the Islanders.
