NBA: Washington 95, Detroit 83

WASHINGTON, March 23 (UPI) -- Antawn Jamison's 24 points helped the Washington Wizards beat Detroit 95-83 Sunday -- their sixth victory in seven games.

Caron Butler scored 17 points and Brendan Haywood 16 for Washington, which holds the fifth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, 1 1/2 games ahead of Philadelphia and Toronto.

Richard Hamilton led the Pistons with 19 points. Chauncey Billups added 11 points and 11 assists.

The Wizards shot at 52.8 percent from the field to 43 percent for Detroit, which has lost two in a row.
