DALLAS, March 21 (UPI) -- The NBA has reportedly chastised Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor regarding allegations he made that Kevin Garnett "tanked it" last season.

The Boston Globe and St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press reported Friday that Taylor was called by an NBA official on Thursday. Taylor was told his comments about Garnett were inappropriate. The Timberwolves' owner, however, wasn't fined in the incident.

Taylor was asked Tuesday how the Timberwolves closed last season and whether the team's on-court effort wasn't complete in an attempt to improve its NBA draft position. "I don't like that so much," Taylor told reporters in Minnesota. "I don't like that. It was more like, I'd say, KG tanked it."

Garnett said he had a right leg injury and didn't play the last five games of last season, which was his 12th with the Timberwolves. Last summer, Minnesota traded Garnett to the Boston Celtics.

Garnett has refused to comment directly on Taylor's allegations.

On Thursday in Dallas, when asked by the Globe about the NBA's call to Taylor, Garnett said, "I have no comments about that." He focused instead on the Celtics' three-game sweep of Texas NBA teams.
