COL BKB: Miami-Fla. 78, Saint Mary's 64

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., March 21 (UPI) -- Jack McClinton's 32 second-half points Friday led Miami of Florida past Saint Mary's 78-64 in a first-round NCAA Tournament contest in Little Rock, Ark.

In all, the 6-foot-1 junior from Baltimore scored a career-high 38 points with four rebounds and three assists in the March Madness game played at Alltel Arena as part of the South Region.

Miami, the region's seventh seed, outscored Saint Mary's 51-32 in the final 20 minutes after it trailed 32-27 at halftime.

McClinton was the only Miami player in double figures.

James Dews and Jimmy Graham scored nine points apiece, while Graham, Anthony King and Dwayne Collins combined for 32 of the Hurricanes' 43 rebounds.

Saint Mary's was led by Patrick Mills' 24 points and five assists.

He was the only player in double figures for the 10th-seeded Gaels, whose season-ending record was 25-7.

Diamon Simpson, the WCC Defensive Player of the Year, added seven points with 12 rebounds and three blocked shots for the California school.
