LONDON, March 20 (UPI) -- David Beckham is back on the England soccer squad for a March 26 match against France, a report said Thursday.
The 32-year-old midfielder was left off by Coach Fabio Capello for its previous match, a 2-1 victory against Switzerland on Feb. 6, after Capello told the British star and former team captain that he wasn't "match-fit."
The BBC in London reported that Beckham was included in a provisional 30-man squad for the next match.
"I always said that when David was fit he could be in the squad," Capello told the BBC. "I have had good reports on him from (assistant coach) Franco (Baldini), who watched him on Saturday night, and also from his club. I know a lot about David Beckham and what he can offer the team."
Beckham, who vowed to return, needs one international game to reach the 100-cap mark for his career.
