CARBONDALE, Ill., March 19 (UPI) -- Matt Shaw's 21 points highlighted a balanced Southern Illinois offensive that produced a 69-53 win over Oklahoma State Tuesday in the first round of the NIT.

Shaw also had nine rebounds. The fourth-seeded Salukis (18-14) also got 15 points and nine rebounds from Randal Falker, 11 from Joshua Bone and 10 from Tony Boyle. Southern Illinois will now play either Alabama State or Arizona State.

The fifth-seeded Cowboys (17-16) were led by Terrel Harris, who scored 20 points. James Anderson added 13.

Two key stats: Oklahoma state missed all 11 of its first-half three-point shots and Southern Illinois shot 56.5 percent from the field in the second half.
