COL BKB: Akron 65, Florida State 60 (OT)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., March 19 (UPI) -- Nick Dials paced Akron with 21 points Tuesday as the Zips edged Florida State 65-60 in overtime in the first round of the NIT.

The Zips went three-for-three from three-point range in the extra period to secure the win following a cold spell in the closing 1:30 of regulation that allowed the Seminoles to knot the score.

Akron moves on to play Massachusetts in the second round.

Uche Echefu's 20 points and 10 rebounds led Florida State. Chris McKnight added 10 points.
