NBA: Denver 168, Seattle 116

DENVER, March 17 (UPI) -- Denver hit more than 60 percent of its field goals and connected on 16 of 31 three-pointers Sunday in a 168-116 blowout of the Seattle SuperSonics.

The Nuggets, in handing Seattle its eighth straight loss, got within five points of the NBA record for most points in a non-overtime game -- 173 by Phoenix and Boston.

Carmelo Anthony led the Denver onslaught with 26 points. Seven other Nuggets reached double figures, including Allen Iverson with 24 and Kenyon Martin with 23.

Marcus Camby posted a triple-double for the Nuggets, hitting 13 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.

Kevin Durant was the Sonics' top scorer with 23 points.
