NBA: Boston 93, San Antonio 91

SAN ANTONIO, March 17 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce had 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists Monday, lifting the Boston Celtics to a 93-91 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

Kevin Garnett added 21 points and eight rebounds, Rajon Rondo 20 points, and Sam Cassell 17 points for the Celtics, who have won 12 of their last 13 games.

Manu Ginobili had 32 points for the Spurs. Tony Parker had 17 points and eight assists. Tim Duncan was held to just 10 points as San Antonio remained 2 1/2 games behind Houston in the NBA Southwest Division.

The Spurs were in front until the final minute with Boston taking an 89-87 lead on Cassell's three-pointer with just 46.8 seconds remaining.
