NBA: Atlanta 105, Washington 96

WASHINGTON, March 17 (UPI) -- Mike Bibby made five of six three-pointers and scored 23 points Monday, sparking the Atlanta Hawks to a 105-96 victory over the Washington Wizards.

Joe Johnson added 18 points and 10 assists for the Hawks, who pulled a half-game ahead of the idle New Jersey Nets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the NBA Eastern Conference.

Josh Smith had 17 points and eight rebounds, Josh Childress 16 points, and Al Horford 12 points and 15 rebounds for Atlanta.

Antawn Jamison had 25 points and nine rebounds for the Wizards, who are a half-game ahead of Philadelphia for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. Brendan Haywood added 16 points and nine rebounds for Washington.
