
GLENDALE, Ariz., March 16 (UPI) -- Joni Pitkanen, Fernando Pisani and Marty Reasoner all had a goal and an assist Saturday when Edmonton beat Phoenix 5-2.
Ales Hemsky's 19th goal this season (power play) at 6:17 of the first period gave the Oilers a 1-0 lead and they never trailed.
They were tied 1-1 after Shane Doan's 24th (power play) at 4:03 of the second.
Pitkanen's 8th goal at 7:45 of the second was the eventual game-winner.
Kyle Brodziak also scored.
Andrew Cogliano had two, while Dwayne Roloson stopped 38 of 40 shots for the Oilers, who have won four of their last five games.
Phoenix got one goal each from Doan and Mathias Tjarnqvist.
Goaltender Ilja Bryzgalov gave up four goals on 36 shots for the Coyotes, who had a two-game winning streak snapped.
They were stalled in their push for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot.
