JEJU, South Korea, March 14 (UPI) -- Graeme McDowell, whose 8-under-par 64 Friday included six birdies and an eagle, has a 2-stroke lead midway through the Ballantine's Championship in South Korea.

McDowell, who opened his tournament with a 68 Thursday, is at 12-under 132, which is two strokes better than Johan Edfors and Jeev Milkha Singh. Kim Hyung-tae and Paul McGinley are tied for fourth at 9-under 135.

High winds caused a more than two-hour delay at the start of the second round and several golfers were unable to finish play Friday because of darkness. McDowell managed a birdie on the 490-yard, par 4 18th hole while playing in near darkness.

McDowell started strong with birdies on his first two holes. He than had two pars and went to 4-under on the day with birdies on Nos. 5 and 6 and made the turn at 32. He carded an eagle 3 on the 543-yard 10th hole and added a birdie at 12. After a string of pars, he finished with the birdie at 18.
