TAMPA, Fla., March 10 (UPI) -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reacquired running back Warrick Dunn on Monday.
Dunn, 33, returns to the team where he spent the first five years of his NFL career. He gained over 1,000 yards twice for Tampa Bay in 1998 and 2000. He spent his last six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Dunn had 227 carries for 720 yards and four touchdowns last season, and also caught 37 passes for 238 yards. He surpassed the 10,000 yard mark in career rushing last season, becoming the 22nd player in NFL history to accomplish the feat.
Dunn ranks third on Atlanta's all-time rushing list with 5,979 yards, trailing just Gerald Riggs (6,631) and William Andrews (5,986). Dunn was released by the Falcons last Monday.
He helped the Falcons lead the league in rushing for three straight years from 2004-06. He reached the 1,000-yard mark each season, including a career-best 1,416 yards on 280 carries in 2005.
