Soccer stars allegedly stole from barmaids

PORTSMOUTH, England, March 10 (UPI) -- Two British soccer stars have been accused of stealing phones, money and other items from the purses of barmaids at a Portsmouth, England, club.

Southampton players Bradley Wright-Phillips and Nathan Dyer allegedly worked with three friends to steal three cell phones, student cards, cigarettes and a total of $291 from the purses and coats of girls working at a bar, the Daily Mail reported Monday.

CCTV footage taken at the club allegedly shows Wright-Phillips watching as the three other men commit the crime.

"It's sickening. For someone who earns 80 times what I earn to be involved in stealing from me is just horrible," said barmaid and law student Noo Kristin, who said about $120 was taken from her bag.

A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said the case is under investigation, but no arrests have yet been made.
