ALLEN PARK, Mich., March 10 (UPI) -- The Detroit Lions announced Monday they have re-signed unrestricted free agent offensive tackle George Foster and agreed to terms with cornerback Brian Kelly.
Foster, a 6-foot-5, 338-pounder, returns to Detroit for a second season after playing in 15 games and starting nine times in 2007. He was acquired in an off-season trade with Denver, where he spent his first four NFL seasons.
Foster, 27, has started 54 games in five NFL seasons since being the 20th overall pick of the 2003 draft out of Georgia.
Kelly, 32, started 11 games with Tampa Bay in 2007, recording two interceptions and seven passes defended while making 21 tackles. He has spent all 10 of his NFL seasons with the Buccaneers, starting 16 games three different times.
Kelly agreed to a three-year contract, though terms of the deal were not disclosed. In his 10-year career, he has 278 tackles, 22 interceptions and 58 passes defended.
