SAN DIEGO, March 10 (UPI) -- De'Jon Jackson had 16 points and eight rebounds Monday, guiding San Diego past 22nd-ranked Gonzaga 69-62 in the West Coast final.
Freshman Rob Jones had 15 points and six rebounds, and Gyno Pomare 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Toreros (21-13) ended Gonzaga's run of WCC Tournament championships at four straight.
Jeremy Pargo led Gonzaga (25-7) with 22 points, but the Bulldogs were out-rebounded 36-26 and allowed San Diego a second-half run that cost them the conference's automatic NCAA bid.
Gonzaga, the conference's regular season champion with a 13-1 record, still has a chance for an at-large bid, but became only the second Bulldogs team in the past 10 seasons to not win the tournament championship.
