COL BKB: Georgetown 55, Louisville 52

WASHINGTON, March 8 (UPI) -- DaJuan Summers' late three-pointer Saturday lifted 10th-ranked Georgetown past No. 13 Louisville 55-52 and the Big East Conference's regular season crown.

It was the first time in Georgetown's storied history it has won back-to-back Big East regular-season titles.

Summers, a 6-foot-8 sophomore from Baltimore, saved the Hoyas from a major embarrassment after they squandered an 11-point, second-half lead and committed 17 turnovers.

Georgetown was led by Austin Freeman's 15 points.

All-America center Roy Hibbert was GU's only other player in double digits with 12 points.

Jonathan Wallace scored nine and Summers eight for the Hoyas (25-4, 15-3 Big East), who will be the top seed in next week's Big East tournament after their fifth straight win.

Louisville got 14 points, five rebounds and three assists from Terrence Williams.

David Padgett scored 12, while Earl Clark added 11 and 10 rebounds for the Cardinals (24-7, 14-4), who had won nine straight.

They won an earlier meeting 59-51 Feb. 9.
