NBA suspends Alexander Johnson for 1 game

NEW YORK, March 7 (UPI) -- The NBA suspended Miami Heat forward Alexander Johnson for one game Friday for a flagrant foul against a Toronto Raptors' player.

Johnson was cited for throwing his body into Andrea Bargnani and knocking him to the floor in the third-quarter of Toronto's 108-83 win over the Heat Wednesday.

Stu Jackson, the league's vice president of basketball operations, announced the suspension, which Johnson served Friday night while his team played the Golden State Warriors.

The 6-foot-10 Johnson has played in 31 games with the Heat this season, averaging 3.7 points a contest.
