NHL: Chicago 4, Minnesota 2

ST. PAUL, Minn., March 5 (UPI) -- Dustin Byfuglien's third-period power-play blast past Niklas Backstrom Tuesday proved to be the game-winner in Chicago's 4-2 win over Minnesota.

Jason Williams had a goal and an assist, and Duncan Keith and Craig Adams also scored for the Blackhawks, who have won three of their last four games. Patrick Lalime kicked out 28 shots in the nets Chicago, which has 70 points and sits six points out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Pavol Demitra and Stephane Veilleux each scored for the Wild, who lost for the first time in four games. Backstrom stopped 30 shots.

Minnesota is tied with Calgary atop the Northwest Division with 77 points.
