COL BKB: Memphis 72, SMU 55

DALLAS, March 5 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts led third-ranked Memphis to its 32nd straight conference win Wednesday, 72-55 over Southern Methodist.

The Tigers completed their regular-season road campaign without a loss, the first time they have done that in 47 years. Their only setback this season has come at home to Tennessee.

Rose scored 19 points and Douglas-Roberts had 18. Memphis, which has already wrapped up the Conference USA title, will close out the regular season at home Saturday against Alabama-Birmingham.

Memphis improved to 29-1 for the season and to 15-0 in the conference.

SMU (9-19, 3-12) was paced by Jon Killen with 16 points. The Mustangs have lost six of their last seven.

Memphis finished off the first half on a 14-5 run to take a 12-point advantage at the break.
