DALLAS, March 2 (UPI) -- Three different Nashville players scored in the third period Saturday when the Predators beat the Dallas Stars 3-1.

The contest was scoreless after two periods, but David Legwand's 15th goal this season 47 seconds into the third gave the winners a 1-0 advantage. Jordin Tootoo scored his ninth at 7:53 and J.P. Dumont scored his 24th after Dallas scored on Mike Ribeiro's 27th.

Dan Ellis made 24 saves on 25 shots for the Predators, who had lost four of their previous five games.

Their 74 points equals Colorado for the final Western Conference playoff spot.

The Stars have 87 points, which is tops in the Pacific Division, three back of Detroit for first place overall in the NHL.
