ST. PAUL, Minn., March 2 (UPI) -- Martin Skoula's goal with 1:15 left in overtime Sunday gave the Minnesota Wild a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Skoula took a pass from Marian Gaborik and directed the puck through goalie Erik Ersberg's pads for the game-winner.

Gaborik got the other goal for Minnesota, which moved two points ahead of Calgary atop the Northwest Division.

Niklas Backstrom stopped 27 shots for the Wild.

Ersberg finished with 35 saves in the first start of his NHL career.
