LAS VEGAS, March 2 (UPI) -- Carl Edwards won his second straight race Sunday, overcoming a penalty to edge Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the UAW-Dodge 400 in Las Vegas.

Edwards was penalized when his crew lost control of a tire during a pit stop, but he still managed to win the ninth race of his Sprint Cup career.

Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton followed the two leaders to the finish.

"That was a pretty spectacular race car we had out there today," said Edwards, who won the Auto Club 500 in California last week.
