WASHINGTON, March 1 (UPI) -- Alexander Steen's 13th goal this season in the third period Saturday helped the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Washington Capitals 3-2.
The goal, scored at 5:42 of the third, gave Toronto what proved to be an insurmountable 3-1 advantage.
Ageless center Mats Sundin scored his 30th, part of a two-goal second. Nik Antropov (power play) also scored.

Victor Kozlov scored his 14th while Olaf Kolzig yielded three goals on 28 shots for the Capitals, who fell five points behind Southeast Division leader Carolina.
The Hurricanes beat Tampa Bay 5-1.
