STANFORD, Calif., March 1 (UPI) -- Brook Lopez scored 19 of his 25 points in the second half Saturday to help eighth-ranked Stanford stage a 60-53 win over 22nd-ranked Washington State.
Lopez was 11 of 16 from the field and blocked four shots for Stanford (24-4, 13-3 Pac-10). His twin brother, Robin Lopez, added 11 points as the Cardinal won for the fourth straight game and the 11th time in its last 12 games.
The victory pulled Stanford to within a half-game of conference-leading UCLA, which plays at Arizona Sunday. Stanford and UCLA meet Thursday.
Derrick Low scored 14 points to lead Washington State (22-7, 10-7) which has lost two of three. Low was held scoreless in the second half. Aron Baynes, with 10 points, was the only other Cougar to reach double figures.
