DALLAS, Feb. 29 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki led the way with 34 points and 10 rebounds Friday in helping the Dallas Mavericks bounce back from a difficult loss to defeat Sacramento 115-106.
The Mavericks fell in San Antonio by three points Thursday, but came back 24 hours later to pull away down the stretch and win for the fourth time in five games.
Jerry Stackhouse delivered 23 points off the bench, Jason Kidd had a season-best 21 and Josh Howard 20. Dallas has beaten Sacramento eight times out of 10.
The Kings, who lost their fourth straight, were led by 25 points each from Beno Udrih and Kevin Martin.
Sacramento trailed by only a point with 2:19 to play before Stackhouse hit a three-pointer. Ron Artest hit two foul shots to pull the Kings within two, but Sacramento missed its next four shots and had to foul repeatedly during the final minute.
Stackhouse made six straight free throws to clinch it.
