
OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Monta Ellis' 30 points Tuesday helped the Golden State Warriors slip past the Seattle SuperSonics 105-99.
Baron Davis added 20 points and had 10 assists and seven steals for Golden State, while Stephen Jackson scored 17 points, Austin Croshere had 14 and Mickael Pietrus had 11.
The Sonics got 21 points apiece from Kevin Kurant and Jeff Green. Nick Collison added 20 points and 13 rebounds.Luke Ridnour recorded 15 assists.
The Sonics used a 12-0 run to grab a 53-40 lead midway through the second quarter. But the Warriors responded with an 11-2 run of their own to make it 57-53 at halftime. A three-pointer by Croshere gave Golden State its first lead of the game at 62-61 in the third and the Warriors used an 11-0 spurt that led to an 80-74 margin going into the final quarter. The Sonics weren't able to eliminate the gap over the final 12 minutes.
