UNIONDALE, N.Y., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist and Ty Conklin made 50 saves Tuesday in Pittsburgh's 4-2 win over the New York Islanders.

Jeff Taffe, Jordan Staal and Connor James also scored for the Penquins.

Frans Nielsen and Ruslan Fedotenko scored and Rick DiPietro made 17 saves for the Islanders.

Pittsburgh acquired forwards Marian Hossa and Pascal Dupuis from Atlanta Tuesday in exchange for forwards Colby Armstrong and Erik Christensen, prospect Angelo Esposito and a first-round pick.

Hossa, considered the premier player on the market, had 26 goals and 30 assists in 60 games with the Thrashers. He has scored 80 or more points in each of the last four seasons.

The Islanders obtained defenseman Rob Davison from San Jose, but traded forward Chris Simon to Minnesota and defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron to Anaheim.
