COL BKB: St. Mary's 61, San Diego 54

MARAGA, Calif., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Tron Smith and Diamon Simpson both scored 15 points Monday night to lead No. 23 St. Mary's to a 61-54 win over San Diego.

Simpson grabbed 11 rebounds. Todd Golden had 10 points and five rebounds for the Gaels (24-4, 11-1 WCC), who have won seven straight conference games since their only conference loss, a Jan. 28 setback against San Diego.

Brandon Johnson scored 15 points and Gyno Pomare added 14 for San Diego (16-13, 9-3) which lost for just the second time in its last 10 games.

St. Mary's led by 14 with eight minutes left to play, but San Diego climbed to with four at 54-50.
