EDMONTON, Alberta, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Andrew Cogliano's third-period goal Sunday boosted the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Cogliano skated down the right side and fired a wrist shot into the Colorado net at 7:29 of the third.

Oilers' goalie Mathieu Garon then protected the lead and held off a last-minute attack after Colorado pulled its goalie. Garon finished with 27 saves.

The Oilers had trailed 2-0 before coming back for the win.

Sam Gagner and Curtis Glencross also scored for Edmonton.

Tyler Arnason and Ben Guite got the Avalanche goals. Colorado has lost six of its last seven games.
