PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Brian Gay won his first PGA Tour title Sunday, capturing the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico by two shots.

Steve Marino shot a 66 to take second place at 14-under 266.

"It seemed like a long day out there," Gay said. "I was just trying to make pars and get the ball in the center of the green."

Gay collected $630,000.

Matt Kuchar and John Merrick each shot a 67 and finished in a third-place tie at 268. Cliff Kresge was another stroke back.
