NBA: LA Clippers 114, Utah 104

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Corey Maggette produced his second straight big game and led a third-quarter surge Friday that brought the Los Angeles Clippers a 114-104 win over Utah.

Maggette scored 27 points, two nights after he had produced 30 against Memphis. The Clippers turned a six-point halftime lead into a 20-point advantage going into the fourth quarter.

Al Thornton also scored 27 points for the Clippers, who made 38 of 41 shots from the free throw line. Cuttino Mobley and Chris Kaman both had 14.

Utah, which had a three-game winning streak snapped, was led by Deron Williams with 26 points.

The Clippers won back-to-back games for the first time since they opened the season with four consecutive victories.
