NBA: Houston 100, New Orleans 80

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Tracy McGrady scored 34 points Friday and Yao Ming had 28 to pace the streaking Houston Rockets to a 100-80 decision over New Orleans.

Houston set a team record with its 10th consecutive road victory and it was the Rockets' 11th straight win overall. It is their longest winning streak in 14 seasons.

McGrady made 14 of 26 shots from the field and Yao was 12 of 21. Houston's last loss came Jan. 27 at home against Utah.

Houston broke the franchise road winning streak established during the 1995 playoffs, during which the Rockets won nine in a row away from home from May 16 to June 9.

David West led New Orleans with 20 points.

The Hornets, still the owners of the best record in the Western Conference, were held to 40 percent shooting and were outrebounded 55-38. New Orleans had won its previous five games, but managed just 11 points in the second quarter.
